Bonna L. Musick

Bonna “Bonnie” Lea Musick, 77, of Morgantown, WV, left this world for her Heavenly home on Sunday, September 1st, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family. Bonnie was born on March 20, 1947, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Dorothy J. (Huntley) Battisti. Bonnie worked as a secretary throughout her life, She was last employed by WVU in the ‘90’s in the Department of Endocrinology. She enjoyed using her organizational skills and talents to help her professors & physicians. If you knew Bonnie, you knew she LOVED the color Green! Her obsession always made us smile. Even so, she loved her family more, spending her entire life devoted to loving & caring for them. Most of all, she loved her Lord with all of her heart and devoted her life to her faith & her church. Bonnie grew up playing the piano in the Point Marion Apostolic Church and served in many capacities under Pastor & Sis. Charles Krause. It was always “home” to her. She is currently a member of HOPE Church Ministries, where she fell in love with another group of wonderful people that became life long friends. She also put her secretarial skills to use there and served as a pianist for many years. Her passion was playing the piano in church. She began playing at the age of 5 before her feet could reach the pedals! Her southern gospel sound often caused people to tap a foot and clap along as she pounded her heart out through the piano keys. She gave piano lessons to many and took her talents to local nursing homes to entertain the elderly. She had a special love and compassion towards the elderly & shut-ins. In earlier years, Bonnie, her mom & her daughter would buy a carload of KFC dinners. They’d drive all around the area delivering them to families in need, shut-in elderly, or anyone who seemingly needed a meal. She was also known for her extensive card ministry, Keeping in touch with as many people as she possibly could. She delivered encouragement, extended an invitation to church, celebrated a milestone, or offered a prayer. This ministry lasted many years and touched the hearts of many. Nobody met her without being invited to church. These were just a few examples of the sincere love she had for others throughout her life. Nobody will ever forget her bright smile….and it remained a constant to her last day on earth. Bonnie is survived by the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Musick— Her “Bobby baby.” They celebrated 58 beautiful years of marriage and were lifelong “sweethearts” always holding hands! They were an example of love & kindness to all. Also surviving is her loving daughter, Dorothy Donham (“That’s MY baby!”), and husband, Pastor Joseph “Jody” Donham, whom she loved & held the most special bond with. Both cared for Bonnie in their home for 7 years. and affectionately called her “Our Bad Bonnie” because of her antics! She is also survived by her “daughter” Pamela Paugh, whom she raised for 14 yrs, her grandchildren, who were her PRIDE & JOY, Hope Summers (RJ), Jayden Donham, Kaila Mikulan (Jeffrey), Ashton Wilson, Bonna “Emily” Musick-Wilson, & Great-Granddaughters Madaline and Arabella; a sister-in-law, B. Kathleen Musick, whom she loved dearly and who helped look after Bonnie throughout her illness; and brother-in-law, Gerald Musick (Victoria). She is also survived by Donald Provance, who was raised like a brother to her, many nephews and nieces of whom she loved dearly, cousins, many dear friends, and church family. We are all so very thankful to have been graced by her presence and to have had her in our lives. In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Bobbie Jean Sapp. A very special thank you to Amydesis Hospice. You made an extremely difficult time so much easier on us.You took us in when others wouldn’t, and wrapped us in your loving arms and care. We send our love & appreciation to the whole team! A special shout out to Amber for your loving kindness from beginning to end, Faith, Missy, our social worker, Jessica, who moved mountains, and Aminda, who was an amazing Angel on the front lines with us, keeping us strong and Bonnie comfortable. We are eternally grateful. Friends will be received in the HOPE Church Ministries, 519 Hornbeck Road., Morgantown, WV, on Wednesday, Sept. 4th, from 4-7 p.m., and again Thursday, Sept 5th, from 10 - 11 a.m. Celebration of Life service begins at 11 a.m., with Pastors, Rev.Joseph Donham and Rev. Allen Donham officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Smithfield, Pa. The Family invites you to wear your favorite shade of Green in honor of Bonnie, and friends are invited to join with the family for a reception after the services. Arrangements are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Pa.
