William Bryan Sullenberger Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William Bryan Sullenberger, 83, of Point Marion, Pa, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at the Point Manor Personal Care Home, Point Marion. Born at Poland Mines, Pa. on August 27, 1929, he was a son of the late Milo “Tom” and Mary (Secrist) Sullenberger. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of both the World War II and Korean Conflict eras, he was employed as a lehr tender at Houze Glass Corp. in Point Marion for 42 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and just walking through the woods. A loving father and grandfather, he is survived by his six children and their spouses, Sherry and Rev. George Carson of Springfield, Missouri, Karen and Clinton Murray of Uniontown, Kathie and Don Beck of Masontown, Pa., and Cindy and Charles Eichelberger, Bryan and Dayna Sullenberger, and Michael and Lisa Sullenberger, all of Point Marion; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Hyson of Colorado. Deceased is his wife of 57 years, Irene (Marshburn) Sullenberger, who died Nov. 30, 2009; a daughter in infancy; three grandchildren, Holly Carson, Joshua Sullenberger and Callie Sullenberger; and a brother, Grant Sullenberger. Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Friday from 6 – 9 p.m., and Saturday until 11:00 AM, the hour of service, with his son-in-law, Rev. George Carson officiating. Interment follows in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, PA.
