William A. Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William A. Brown, 88, of Dilliner, Pa., passed away quietly at home, Friday, January 2, 2009, with his loving family at his side. Born February 13, 1920 in Dilliner, he was a son of the late William L. and Mary E. (Kushman) Brown. He was a faithful member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in McClellandtown, where he served as Deacon for over 14 years. A former coal truck and bus driver, he was the owner and operator of Brown’s Radio and TV Sales and Service in Dilliner for 40 years until his retirement in 1994. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Norma and Tom Hlatky, and Barbara and John Stevulak, all of Dilliner; three granddaughters, Sara Hlatky and Leona Wilson and husband Gary, all of Dilliner, and Lara Penich and husband Andrew of Carmichaels; two great-grandsons, Travis Steulak and Noah Wilson, and a step-granddaughter, Lisa Jo Bauer and her husband Don and their son, Travis, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. His wife, Valetta Mae Beatty Brown, passed away on October 18, 1996. Bill was the lastof his immediate family, having been predeceased by a sister, Virginia Blaker, and brothers, Albert, Roy and Vernon Brown. Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, on Monday from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 PM, and Tuesday until11:00 AM, the hour of service, with Rev. Tim Tanner officiating. Interment follows in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, Pa.
