Steven Craig “Monk” McClead, Sr., 55, of Dilliner, Pa., passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017, in the UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born July 3, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Henry and Barbara (Lux) McClead. A 1979 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, he was employed in home remodeling for most of his career. Monk enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with his friends, and was a great fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his lifelong companion, Kathy Mankins; a son, Steven C. McClead, Jr. of Bobtown; a daughter Lisa (Naylor) Varano of Uniontown; one sister, Brenda Horvwalt of Dilliner; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Also deceased are two brothers, Ronnie McClead and Brian McClead, and a sister, Debbie Maust. Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, on Saturday from 1 – 5 PM. Funeral Services will begin at 5:00 PM, with Rev. French Jenkins officiating.
