John DeLuca, Jr., age 58, a lifelong resident of Dilliner, Pa., passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Washington Healthcare – Greene, following a lengthy illness with his family at his side. Born in Waynesburg on Oct. 24, 1958, he was a son of the late John DeLuca, Sr. and Bonnie (Vance) DeLuca Sebulsky. A 1976 graduate of Mapletown High School, he worked at Bruno’s Service Station in Newtown for over 27 years. He also was self-employed in hauling gravel and coal, cutting firewood, recycling metals, and just in general helping out anyone who needed him. John was active in the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Dilliner, enjoyed taking pictures of just about anything, and especially fishing in Dunkard Creek. Surviving is his loving daughter, Jennifer A. DeLuca of Dilliner; three grandchildren, Kimberly DeLuca Mathis, Salena DeLuca and Johnathan Keener; a great-grandson, Jasper Mathis; his companion, Delores; two brothers and their wives, Frank and Laura DeLuca and Wally and Jennifer Sebulsky; a nephew, two nieces, and many friends. Also deceased is his step-father, William Sebulsky. Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, on Monday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M., and Tuesday until 11:00 A.M., the hour of service with Revs. John Hodge and Beverly Roscoe officiating. Interment follows in Garards Fort Cemetery. Memorials in John’s name may be offered to the Greene County Humane Society, 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
