Charlotte Kay Wade

July 22, 1949 - November 10, 2016

Charlotte K. Wade, 67, of Smithfield, Pa., died unexpectedly Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Born July 22, 1949 in Fairmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of Mary Jo (Ballah) Prickett of Laurel Point, W.Va., and the late Robert Prickett. A 1967 graduate of University High School and a 1986 graduate of West Virginia University, she worked for a number of years at both the University and Monongalia General Hospitals, as an EEG Technician, Nurse's Aide, and later as a Critical Care and Psychiatric Nurse. Charlotte developed and taught the Medical Assistant Program at West Virginia Career College and West Virginia Career Institute, and was also a substitute teacher in Greene County. She was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Sorority and encouraged many by volunteering in various churches and her local community. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert L. Wade; four children, Lora Koontz and husband Tim of Glenshaw, Pa., Cheri D. Wade of Smithfield, William Wade of Lake Lynn, and Christopher Wade and wife Debby of Masontown, Pa.; two granddaughters, Hannah Koontz and Kylie Bricker; a brother, Duane Prickett and wife Cherryl of Laurel Point; two sisters, Frances Bellott of Beverly Mass., and Elaine Prickett of Laurel Point; and by a number of loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Pa., on Monday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM., and Tuesday until 11:00 AM, the hour of service. Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield.
