Arthur R. "Lefty" Stewart

Arthur Raymond “Lefty” Stewart, 88, a longtime resident of Point Marion, Pa., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Born in Point Marion on Feb. 8, 1929, he was a son of the late Edward Morgan and Manella Mae (Pounds) Stewart. A graduate of Point Marion High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and served in the Army Reserves for more than ten years. He later worked in and retired from the Parts Department of Wilson Chevrolet in Morgantown. He is survived by his son and caregiver, Carl Stewart; one granddaughter, Carly Stewart; and one brother, Paul Stewart, of Point Marion. His wife, Barbara Stewart, passed away on August 3, 2009. Also deceased is a daughter, Debra Stewart in 2004; two brothers, Edward Stewart, II and Jeremiah Stewart; and four sisters, Lillian Myers, Ruth Travis, Marjorie DeVault and Alberta Smith. Friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, Feb. 18th at 10:30 A.M. in the Little Arlington Section of Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, for a Graveside Service with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating, and Military Honors accorded by the Point Marion Veterans Posts. Arrangements are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home.
