Thomas A. Robinson

Thomas Allen Robinson, 73, of Morgantown, WV went to be with his Lord at his home surrounded by many of his loving family, on Thursday, February 9, 2012, following his valiant two year battle with cancer. Born in Springhill Township, near New Geneva, PA on February 28, 1938, he was the son of Bruce Gerald and Lenna Marie Swisher Robinson. Tom graduated Suma Cum Laude from Point Marion High School in 1956 and from West Virginia University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree. He was CEO for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) USDA for 32 years until his retirement in 1994. His lifelong passion was teaching and mentoring children. He worked in children’s ministries at the Morgantown C&MA Church for over 25 years, as well as in the Big Brother program for several years. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Ruth Ann Blaney Robinson; and three children, two sons, William Harold Robinson and partner Sherry Huffman of Taylorsville, NC; and Terry Lynn Robinson and wife, Rachel Rae of Monticello, GA, and one daughter, Kimberly Marie Hahn and husband, Ronald S., Jr. of Dunbar, WV; eight grandchildren, Ricki Renee’ Kaiser Sorge and husband, Michael Christian, Clarence Ernest Russell IV, Emily Mary Robinson, Madison & Brandon Huffman, Timothy Lee Compton, Julia Rae Robinson, Samuel Edward Hahn; one great grandson, Cody Allen Kaiser; his brother, Bruce Gerald Robinson, Jr. and wife Judith, of Taylor, Michigan; and by a number of loving nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melody Ruth Kaiser, in January of 2011. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at The Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Morgantown, on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. David Linn and Rev. Douglas Miller officiating. Cremation services are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion.
